VALENTINES DAY ARTSY HEART COOKIES

I made these cookies using the same technique as I used for the Cactus Cookies.  I love the way they turned out and I think they look like little pieces of edible art!!!

VALENTINES DAY 2018 COCONUT CAKE

I have posted pictures of my coconut cake before but I really wanted to again because of this cake with my handmade white chocolate hearts.  This filling is coconut pastry cream and the whole cake is frosted with vanilla buttercream and sweetened flaked coconut.

These cookies are edible art and would be a great take away favor for your next party.

BOUGAINVILLEA WEDDING CAKE

I made this cake for my best friends niece.  She wanted pink and red bougainvillea on the cake.  I had never used these flowers on a cake before so I tested them out first.  They do not do well as cut flowers so I had to cut and place the bougainvillea on the cake just one hour before the wedding started.
The flavor of the cake was carrot cake with cream cheese filling.  I iced the cake with vanilla buttercream and did a simple rustic design on the cake.

CHRISTMAS PLACARD COOKIES

I have a wonderful customer that loves to entertain especially during the holidays.  She wanted placard cookies this year to put at each guests place at the table.  This is what I came up with for her.  They were really fun to make.  I wrapped each one in a cello bag so the guest could take them home.

UNDER THE SEA BIRTHDAY CAKE

This cake was for one of my customers granddaughter.  She told me she liked all things underwater so I made this playful cake for her.
The flavor was lemon cake with lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream filling.

RED VELVET CAKE FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

Here is a red velvet cake I made for Valentines Day.
I toasted some of the leftover cake in the oven, crushed it up, then put it on the side of the cake.
The top is some chocolate curls I made and then I added pink meringues and red fondant hearts.
The filling is cream cheese frosting.

GRADUATION CAKE FOR JESSE

I made this graduation cake for Jesse.  He was graduating from 5th grade.  He requested Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Cake Pops, and Vanilla Cupcakes with Apricot Filling and Vanilla Buttercream.  His mom set up a beautiful display at their home.
I met this wonderful family because I found their business when I needed service on my VW.  They did an excellent job on my car and have become great customers.  They all love desserts and parties.  Obviously Jesse is taking after his Dad and loving cars too.  The cars on the cake are from his own collection and he picked these out special for me to put on his graduation cake.
Congratulations Jesse!!!

CAKE POPS & A BIRTHDAY CAKE

I love watching my customer's kids grow up. I made cake pops for this beautiful young lady on her 16th birthday and this cake for her 18th.

WEDDING CUPCAKES & A CUTTING CAKE

These cupcakes and small wedding cake were made for Jennifer & Roberts wedding at the La Quinta Resort in La Quinta, California.  The flavors were German Chocolate and Lemon Poppyseed with Raspberry Buttercream.
The small wedding (cutting) cake was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling.
Everything was to be placed on to a cupcake stand with the cutting cake on top.  I did not get to place it on myself as it was a hot day and everything had to be kept in the refrigerator at the venue until closer to serving time.

BABY SHOWER TOPSY TURVY CAKE

This cake was done for a baby boy shower.  The bottom layer was carrot cake, the middle layer was chocolate, and the top layer was coconut.  They all had buttercream fillings.
People ask me all the time how much time these type of cakes take to make.  I roughly figured that this cake took about 48 hours to make.  Truly a labor of love.

Gold is the color for 50th wedding anniversaries.  So I designed this cake for a 50th party.  There are 175 hand painted ruffles around the bottom tier of this cake.  Very time consuming but stunning.
Flavors were vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, raspberry jam, and raspberry buttercream.
Happy Anniversary to Joyce and Wayne.

LACY DESIGNER DESSERT

This exquisite dessert was made for a small dinner party this summer.  It was a real challenge working with chocolate when it is 115 degrees outside.  Thank goodness for air conditioning and three refrigerators.

The description of this dessert is:

Milk Chocolate Mousse, 70% Valrhona  Chocolate Creme Brule, Salted Caramel, Praline Krispie, Encased in a lacy chocolate shell, garnished with streusel and dried raspberries.

You cannot believe how yummy this dessert is.  It is creamy, chocolaty, crunchy, and salty all wrapped up into one package.
It took a lot of time to execute it but it was well worth it.

The squares are an Apricot Crumb Square.
Not pictured are Macaron and Chocolate Fleur de Sel Cookies.

I received a note from my customer:

Want to let you know your efforts were appreciated.  What a GREAT job you did.  Everyone loved them – not surprising, but always a good reinforcement of decisions as to what to serve.  They were perfect!

COOKIES FOR A WINE LOVER

These cookies (and many more of them) were made for a clients son's birthday party.  He is a wine enthusiast.  She is traveling with them to Los Angeles and will give one to each guest at the party.  She said she would transport them extra carefully.  I sure hope she does and none of the corks pop off!!!

SHE'S A JEWEL BIRTHDAY CAKE

I made this cake for the Country Club where I used to work.  They asked me to match the flowers to the tablecloth.  I absolutely love this color combination!!!
The birthday girl loves jewelry so I made some edible jewelry to "throw" on her cake.
Flavors of this cake were chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chocolate mousse filling.

ENGAGEMENT PARTY CAKE

This cake was for an engagement party.  The client asked me to use peach and ecru colors only.
