BABY SHOWER CAKE & CUPCAKES

This cake reminds me of a butterfly fairyland.  The flavor of the cake was coconut with coconut pastry cream filling as were the cupcakes.

BRIDAL SHOWER CUPCAKES

These cupcakes were done for a bridal shower. The client asked for them to be "bridal" rather than whimsical.  They were very time consuming but I think they turned out great.  The flavors are: 1st picture - Lemon with Lemon Curd Filling, 2nd picture - Gluten Free Pumpkin Caramel Spice, 3rd picture - Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch.

TOOTH CUPCAKE FOR MY DENTIST

I made some "tooth" cupcakes for my dentist.  Here he is pretending like he is about to drill it.  Actually, he ate it right after taking this picture.
I used some dentil floss to tie a bow around the outside of the cupcake wrapper.  He thought that was very cleaver.
My dentist is so great I don't even mind having to go have my teeth worked on!!

BIRTHDAY CAKE COOKIES

Birthday Cake Cookies are a great alternative to a birthday cake.  It is fun to send each person home with their own cookie to enjoy later.

DOGGY CAKE FOR A DOG LOVER

I just realized I forgot to post this cake I did in October.  This cake was done for a clients birthday and she loves dogs and cats.  She and her husband also have a wonderful business where they babysit dogs for people when they go out of town.
I have even made dog biscuits for them.

HAWAIIN BABY SHOWER CAKE

This was a cake I did for a Hawaiian themed baby shower.  The flavors were Vanilla Chiffon Cake with Passion Fruit Bavarian and Coconut Mousse.  I love the way they set up the table.  It really showcased the cake.
The stripes on the cake matched the invitation as did the flip flops for the dad, mom, and baby.

CUPCAKES ON A CAKE

The flavor of this cake is carrot and the cupcakes are carrot too.  This cake was made to celebrate 5 birthdays.  The client wanted each of the birthday guests to take home a cupcake and she wanted to serve the bottom cake at the party.  Fun!!

These cupcakes were for a baby shower.  The flavors were Chocolate Hazelnut Crunch, Carrot with Cream Cheese Frosting, Banana with Caramel and a fresh Banana Filling, and Lemon with Lemon Curd Filling and Frosting.
I made 40 of them and each one was uniquely different.  Such fun to just sit down and create.

COOKIES FOR MY DENTIST

I made these cookies for my dentist's office. To make something fun before I go takes my mind off what might happen once I get there ;o).  Actually, for this appointment I was just getting my teeth cleaned.

BECKY'S 90TH QUILTED BIRTHDAY CAKE

90th Birthday Cake for Becky!!  Handmade sugar roses and sugar pearls.  Flavor of the cake was lemon cake, lemon mousse and lemon curd.  I also quilted the sides of the cake and stenciled the Happy Birthday plaque.

VINTAGE BABY SHOWER

CUPCAKES GALORE & A BIRTHDAY CAKE

Hi everyone!!! I have been away from my blog for a while but I promise I have been busy.  I started a Facebook page and you can link to it here.  It is called Sugar Chef Peanut Brittle.  You can leave me a message to order and please when you go to Sugar Chef Peanut Brittle push "like".

The picture you see here was done for a 70th Birthday Party.  They presented the birthday cake to the birthday girl and all the guests got to come to the buffet table for a cupcake.  The flavors were coconut, red velvet, chocolate hazelnut, lime, and carrot.  The theme was the 50's so each cupcake had a little deco to reflect it.

OK back to work now!!!

BABY SHOWER CAKE

This two tier baby shower cake had to be transported 2 hours away.  Because it would be out of the refrigerator for so long I filled the cakes with buttercream and ganache.  The bottom tier was chocolate cake with ganache and raspberry buttercream with fresh strawberry filling and the top tier was white cake with raspberry buttercream with fresh strawberry filling.  Everything on the cake is edible even the shoes and building blocks.  When the baby arrives she will be named Emily which is reflected in the building blocks.

CLASE AZUL TEQUILA CAKE

This is a grooms cake I made last week for a Tequila aficionado as a present from his future mother-in-law.  The bride sent me an empty bottle (should have had at least a taste left in it!!) and I copied it out of chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream. I covered it with fondant and hand painted all the detail.  It was a real challenge to make it standing up.

ALEXIS & BROCK'S ORCHID WEDDING CAKE

I love the flowers on this cake!!  So many beautiful colors and all different kinds of orchids.
The cake was all chocolate with three different fillings, chocolate ganache, vanilla buttercream, and a coffee mocha buttercream.
The bride and groom are the nicest couple and it was a real pleasure making this cake for them.

This is a cute picture of them after tasting the cake.  I think Alexis is over the top in love with the taste of the cake.  Well maybe!!

And here is a note from her mom Linda:
"Not only was the cake beautiful and perfect, it tasted fabulous!"
